The fifth transaction of the month is that of Dallas-based Ecobat opening a facility in Arizona. Ecobat operates in the production of lead, lead alloys, and the recycling of lead batteries, with 11 smelters with an average annual output of 840,000 tons of lead.  Its expansion in Casa Grande, Arizona, will focus on the recycling of lithium batteries with functions like sorting, shredding, and separating battery materials to produce black mass. Compliance Standards believes the expansion is in response to expected growth in lithium battery usage and retirement. The company is well-positioned resource-wise to grow its activity, with an employee base of more than 1,000 and revenues exceeding $1 billion. The company’s own ESG position needs more improvements with 80 current and former employees rating it 3.5 stars. CEO Marcus Randolph is given a 66% approval rating on Indeed.com while only 62% of the Glassdoor reviewers said they would recommend the company for a friend.
