In the final week of August and the first days of September the ITAD and electronics‑recycling world took something of a breather. There were hardly any new deals or major operational changes, and the only real headlines came from earnings calls of companies operating in adjacent sectors. On the policy front, the standout was outside of North America, specifically with India’s announcing of a national program to subsidize recycling plants for critical minerals such as lithium and cobalt.
While the technology sector is benefiting from strong growth due to a confluence of events, we are concerned that the US economy could create headwinds that could slow the momentum. For EOL companies, here are some of the critical issues to track and potentially brace for.
