Aurubis is now operating a major recycling facility in Richmond, Georgia, its first big U.S. site. Built for $800 million, the plant can handle up to 180,000 metric tons of scrap and recover copper, nickel, tin, and precious metals from things like circuit boards and cables.This new option could have some impact on how ITAD and electronics recycling businesses manage their scrap in the long run given Richmond’s size, recovery technology, and connections to Aurubis’s global network.
