Compliance Weaknesses Across the Electronics Chain

Recent findings from Basel Action Network and EPA’s settlement with Apple are evidence of environmental compliance gaps in the broad IT and ITAD industries. BAN’s investigation showed certain ITAD operators shipping e-waste to jurisdictions with import restrictions, while EPA cited Apple’s Santa Clara facility for hazardous waste violations involving solvent classification, emissions routing, and inspection gaps.
