It is no surprise that California is home of the biggest number of PCs in the US installed base. With an estimated figure of more than 22 million units this year, California is where almost 12% of the PCs are currently operating. [membersonly] The economic might of California, with the number of active companies, the size of its population, etc conspire to make that state rank number one in the PC installed base. At the very low end is the state of Wyoming with just about 350,000 computers. Below is a map of the density of PCs by state. It is a useful map in that it provides indications of where recyclers and ITAD professionals ought to focus their go-to-market strategies and site locations for an addressable market of almost 190 million computers.
